The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, intends to make a trip to North Korea at a future date, as reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Sunday.
According to the report, President Putin has once more expressed his deep gratitude for the invitation sent by State Affairs Commission President, Kim Jong Un, to visit Pyongyang at a favorable time. Putin has indicated his intentions to venture to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (an acronym used for North Korea's official name) in the near future.
Earlier this week, North Korea's Foreign Minister, Choe Son Hui, had a meeting in Moscow with Putin and Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov. The key subjects under discussion included matters concerning the Korean Peninsula, Northeast Asia, international peace and security. These details were reported by the Russian state medium, TASS.
The Kremlin's spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, mentioned that timelines for Putin's visit to North Korea are still under consideration through diplomatic channels and will be declared in due course, as per TASS.
The KCNA report stated that both parties had expressed a strong determination to reinforce strategic and tactical cooperation to protect the basic interests of the two nations. This aim is geared towards establishing a new, multipolar international order based on independence and justice.
